Meta CEO Suggests Moving On From Musk-Zuckerberg Feud

Mark Zuckerberg appears to have ended the ongoing Musk vs Zuckerberg feud by deciding not to proceed with the planned cage fight against the Tesla CEO, stating that it is time to move on. The rivalry began in June when Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a cage match, to which Zuckerberg responded with the phrase “Send Me Location,” which was previously used by UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov. Both CEOs have been sharing glimpses of their training on their respective social media platforms.

However, the fight may now be in jeopardy as Meta’s CEO appears to have moved on.

Musk vs. Zuckerberg

In a post on Threads, Zuckerberg wrote: “I think we can all agree that Elon is not serious and it’s time to move on. I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legitimate race for charity. Elon won’t confirm date, then says he needs surgery and now asking to practice in my backyard. If Elon is serious about a real date and an official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, it’s time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.

Interestingly, on Friday, Musk revealed the details of his battle with Meta’s CEO on X-Message (formerly known as Twitter), highlighting that it will be broadcast live on both X and Meta’s new platform, Threads. The fight would not be directed by the UFC, but by foundations led by both CEOs. He also spoke with Italy’s prime minister and culture minister about holding a cage match in Rome, a city historically known for gladiatorial combat.

Preparing for battle

Both Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been preparing for a cage match since it was proposed. Last month, Meta’s CEO was seen training with MMA fighters Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya. During the same period, Zuckerberg also announced that he had earned a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

On the other hand, Musk has also been seen training with experienced UFC fighters such as Georges St-Pierre, as well as American computer scientist Lex Friedman, who also holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Speaking about the match, American host Oscar De La Hoya called it “the biggest fight in MMA history”. In an X post on Aug. 12, De La Hoya wrote, “@elonmusk vs @finkd is the biggest fight in MMA history without the @ufc 50/50 fight.”
